which was developed during the Vedic period in India. The purpose of Ayurveda
is to guide humans on how to lead a happy life without any diseases. It is
written in the historical Ayurvedic texts that gods imparted the knowledge of
Ayurveda to sages and from sages, it was passed on to human practitioners.
Ayurveda courses in India concentrate on the authentic practices
which were developed exclusively in the Indian subcontinent. This is a prime
reason why patients and aspirants from around the world come to India for
treatment and learning respectively.
A major learning hub for Ayurveda in India is the
state of Kerala. Calm beaches and expert teachers are two of the main
attractions for students from around the globe. Ayurveda courses Kerala follow only authentic Ayurveda practices
and practices like Power yoga which are developed to commercialise Ayurveda are
not instructed.
The word Ayurveda translates to life meaning and the
principles in Ayurveda are directed at maintaining a balance in the experience.
According to Ayurveda, there are seven vital tissues in the human body- Plasma,
Blood, Muscles, Fat, Bone, Marrow and Semen. Ayurveda also names three
elemental substances present in the human body- the doshas namely Vata, Pitta
and Kapha.
The doshas are very important in Ayurveda as the whole
treatment is built on the balance of doshas in the human body. A balance of
doshas is required to have a disease free body whereas if the doshas become
unbalanced, it can lead to illness in the body.
